Swim lesson overview:
 

  • BSC teaches according to the guidelines and design set forth by the American Red Cross
  • All Lead instructors are Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Certified
  • Our Swim Lesson Program is a six-level Learn-to-Swim
  • Student’s progress through the levels at their own pace, mastering the skills in one level before advancing to the next.
  • Each level of our Learn-to-Swim class includes training in basic water safety and helping others in an emergency, in addition to stroke development.

2017 Pricing - $55 per child for the entire season
Swim Lesson Season runs approximately 9 weeks with 2 classes  per week

Parent Toddler
 
 Parent & Child        Aquatics  
 Orient young children to the aquatic environment and to  help them acquire rudimentary levels of basic aquatic skills. 
 
  Level 1
 

 Introduction to
 Water Skills 

 
 Begin developing positive attitudes, good swimming habits  and safe practices in and around the water.
  Level 2
 Fundamental Aquatic    Skills
 
 Give participants success with fundamental skills, including  learning how to float without support and to recover to a  vertical position.
  Level 3
 
 Stroke Readiness
 
 
 Build on the skills in Level 2 by providing additional guided  practice. 
 
  Level 4
 Stroke Development
 
 Develop participants’ confidence in the strokes learned in  Level 3 and to improve other aquatic skills.
  Level 5
 Stroke Refinement
 
 Further learn how to coordinate and refine strokes.
  Level 6      (Fitness)  Skill Proficiency
 Refine strokes so participants swim them with more ease,  efficiency, power and smoothness and over greater  distances.
 
  Level 6  (Lifeguard)  Personal Water
 Safety
 
 To refine strokes so participants swim them with more
 ease, efficiency, power and smoothness over greater  distances.  

 To teach students how to prevent aquatic emergencies in  open water environments.

 To introduce and practice self-rescue techniques.
