Frequently Asked Questions
FAQS

Q. Is "the Pool" a year round facility?
A. No. Our season runs from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day.

Q. Who owns the Bradford Pool?
A. The "Pool" is owned by stock holders (Bondholders) and is managed by a board of Directors who are themselves Bondholders. Bondholders are active members of the Pool.

Q. What is the official name of the "Pool"?
A. The official name is The Bradford Swim and Recreation Center, Inc.

Q. How does one join the "Pool"?
A. Starting Memorial Day weekend applications for the BSC waiting list are taken. They are available at the pool office. Names are collected for one year and a new list is started the next year. Lists are not carried over from one year to another.

You may now register for the waiting list on line here

Q. How do I contact someone at the Pool when it is closed?
A. The "Pool" can be reached at P.O. Box 5002, Bradford MA 01835-5002 or through our

web site.

Q. How do I get on the Board?
A. First, one must own a bond. Second, one must be nominated at the annual meeting, usually held in July-August. Board members are elected for a one year term.

Q. How do I get a Bond?
A. First, the Pool has issued 10 new Bonds for 2008. When these 10 are sold, bonds must be acquired independently on a private sale basis with no "Pool" involvement. The Pool Secretary/Treasurer will issue new certificates upon receiving proof of transfer.  We are attempting this year to maintain an up-to-date listing of all Bondholders interested in selling Bonds. The fact that people move, loose their bonds or pass away leaving no record of the Bond, does not help in this task. Visit our Bonds page.

Q. Are individual memberships available?
A. Traditionally the Pool is family facility. Memberships are of a family type. No individual memberships are sold. One membership fee covers an entire household, excluding fees for lessons, swim team and special events.
